The Electrical Review & Data Centre Review (ER & DCR) Excellence Awards celebrate outstanding achievements and innovation in the data centre and critical infrastructure fields. Digital Realty, is honored to be named winner in two categories for the 2024 awards. These wins underscore our dedication to sustainable practices and state-of-the-art power solutions in the data centre industry.

The judging panel, made up of industry experts, recognise entries that demonstrate excellence in a number of areas, including: energy efficiency, innovation, environmental impact reduction and contribution to the advancement of the data centre industry.

Dynamic Frequency Response

Collaborating with Enel X Global Retail, our Dynamic Frequency Response project aims to harness the potential of data centre batteries to facilitate Ireland's transition towards renewable energy sources. By doing so, it is estimated that over 30,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions from the country's energy grid can be avoided. This initiative addresses the challenges posed by Ireland's rapidly evolving energy sector, where the increasing prominence of renewable energy, such as wind and solar power, necessitates innovative approaches to ensure grid stability.

The ER DCR Excellence Awards 2024 winners were revealed at a ceremony in London on May 16, 2024. This event united industry leaders from the electrical and data centre sectors to honor their accomplishments and engage in networking.
